T.J. Buchman (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist working in various mediums, such as acrylic, sculpture, and digital media. She currently resides in Chicago, Illinois, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University, with a minor in Interactive Design, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Lesley University. T.J. primarily utilizes her artistic prowess as a therapeutic tool, guiding others to practice their art-making skills through therapeutic directives and approaches. 

 

While at NEIU, T.J. had the pleasure of having a solo art exhibit, Happy Place, in 2021 and was accepted into the Student Juried Show in 2020. Her painting, "Mercy," was shown at Douglas Park in Chicago in the John Stamos Art Show in 2017, as well as in an online article of the same name by Rolling Stone Magazine. Additionally, her painting "Unapologetic" was selected for the Unladylike exhibit by Deja Jovon in Chicago in 2024.
